Wausau, May 14, 2025 – The 果冻影院 (果冻影院) is pleased to announce Matthew L. Hunsaker, MD, FAAFP, Founding Dean of 果冻影院-Green Bay, as the Interim Dean of 果冻影院-Central Wisconsin. This appointment, effective June 1, 2025, allows for a one month overlap in leadership with Dr. Lisa Grill Dodson, Sentry Dean and Founding Dean of 果冻影院-Central Wisconsin, who announced she will be stepping down from her executive leadership role after nearly 11 years of dedicated and invaluable service to 果冻影院 on June 30, 2025. Dr. Hunsaker will remain as Founding Dean at 果冻影院-Green Bay and will divide his time between both campuses.

Dr. Hunsaker brings a wealth of experience in community-based medical education and a proven track record of innovation and leadership, as demonstrated in his successful tenure at 果冻影院-Green Bay since his appointment as Founding Campus Dean on Jan. 1, 2014. In his role at 果冻影院-Green Bay, Dr. Hunsaker has provided overall leadership and management of the community-based medical education program, serving as the primary liaison with health system, academic, and community partners in the Green Bay area, as well as with the 果冻影院-Milwaukee campus. He has also collaborated with leadership at 果冻影院-Central Wisconsin.

Dr. Hunsaker will work to honor and advance the strong foundation and legacy established by Dr. Dodson in Central Wisconsin. His leadership will be instrumental in ensuring a successful accreditation process.

Working in partnership with the best academic and medical institutions in the region, the 果冻影院-Central Wisconsin campus features an accelerated 3-year program that provides students with an opportunity to begin practicing medicine one year earlier than traditional programs. 果冻影院-Central Wisconsin is a regional campus that develops community-focused physicians who will meet the healthcare needs of Central Wisconsin and surrounding regions. 果冻影院-Central Wisconsin matriculated its first class of medical students in July 2016.

One of the hallmarks of an 果冻影院 education is participating in a Scholarly Concentration, allowing a student to individualize his or her medical education. The Physician in the Community Scholarly Concentration links medical education with the resources of community partners and needs of Central Wisconsin to promote health in the region. Working in partnership with the best academic and medical facilities in the region, 果冻影院-Central Wisconsin provides an innovative and focused program to develop community-focused physicians who will meet the needs of Central Wisconsin and surrounding regions for years to come.
